DOUBLE PAYS $33.90
İN IDEAL-WEATHER CONDITIONS A MODERATE CROWD ENJOYED A PLEASANT AFTER- NOON OF RACING AT THE. VALLEY YESTERDAY WHEN THE H. K. JOCKEY CLUB HELD THE SECUND DAY OF THE EIGHTH EXTRA MEETING,
Punters generally had a good time, favourites being prominent in all the races and dividends being low, the highest being $20.20 pald by Brown Derby, winner of the last race. The next best win dividend was $16.30 paid by. Distinctive Time which won the Double Tenth Plate in fine style, beating the hot favourite Confusion Bay by half a length,
Although conditions under foot were conducive to fast racing. the times run were very slow, and no new records were established.
The best time, for the day was ||Rese-Queen 148 (P. P. Botelho); returned by Far View (Mr. Pih Strathbannock 146 (D. Black) up who beat, Sapper (Mr. D.Taxing Master 151 (B. L Taol. Black up for first place in the Diamond Bay Handicap over one mile. in 4/5 second slower than the record time of 1 min. 42.3/5 secs. established by Sapper at s previous occasion.
Six of the day's events were won by the favourites, only Confusion Bay and Sapper disappointing a large following.
