Death Of Well-Known Banker
on
Mr. Look Poong-shan, one of the Initiators of Chinese banking institutions in the United Statas. died at his residence here Saturday at the age of 52.
Born in Callofnia, the late "Mr. Look_came from a family of California pioneers. He became first president of the Canton Bank in San Francisco after having learned banking in the Russo-
Asiatic Bank.
Mr. Look came to Hongkong and organised the Arst Chinese commercial bank, the Bank of Canton, in 1913, when the Im portance of faclitating foreign exchange
