Wanchai Case Convictions: Written Judgment

Holding that he could not agree with Mr. B. C. Hobbs' contention that choppers and hammers did not come under the Marine Stores Ordinance, Mr. H. G. .Sheldon, ins written judgment at the Central Magistracy yesterday convicted three men and two women charged with keeping marine stores without a licence in Wanchal.

The defendants, Ho Sau, 47, Ng Lam, 43,. Tang Yuk, 19, Wong Wal, 37, married woman, and Leung Kwan, 36, woman, who were each fined $10.

An interesting talk on Egyptian stamps was given by Capt. E W. H. Fillmore, M. · B. E, at the meet; ing of the Philatelic Society yes- terday.

The speaker gave B detailed account of the various issues and traced the history back to 1883. His excellent collection of stamps of that country was exhibited.
