THE HON. MR. THOMAS HENRY KING, J. P. Commissioner of Police and. Chief Offeer of the Fire Brigade since April, 1935, is leaving the Colony within the next month or two.
In reply to an inquiry made by the Hongkong Dally Press yesterday, the Acting Colonial Secretary, Hon. Mr. R. A. C. North said: "Mr. King, who is now 57 years of age, has asked to be allowed to retire on pension within the next month or two and his request has been granted."

Two British Subjects Are Arrested In Korea
LONDON, Aug. 2 (Reuter)It is learned officially that two British subjects have been arrested in Korea by the Japanese authorities.

Representations have been made by the British Ambassador, Sir Robert Craigie, regarding the arrests. Nothing is known' in London regarding the charges against the Britons in custody who now number nine.
