CHUNGKING, June 4 (Central)-The 101st anniversary of the destruction of opium by Viceroy Lin Tve-hsu at Bocca Tirris in 1839 was commemorated yesterday troughout Free China. Mass meetings were held in various key elties. including Chungking. Kwellin, Kun- ming. Loyang. Lanchow. Slan and Shanghai.

In Chungking. Mr. Ku Cheri-kang, director of the Social Affairs Board of the Kuomintang Central Executive Committee, presided at a mass meeting of more than 500 people. In the course of a speech, he called upon the audience to redouble their efforts in suppressing the drug evil. --
