Of Season At Home

Although the weather looked threatening enough, "at one time during Saturday, to dampen the heart of even the most ardent bowl- er, the rain kept off to allow of a fairly fall programme of matches to be carried through, only two games being postponed on account of sodden greens resultant on Friday's heavy rain.

In the First Division. Club de Recrelo, holders, took full points from Civil Service Cricket while Indian Recreation Club broke their sequence of defeats at the expense of the Football Club

A number of the games were very closely contested, one shot ma- jorities being registered in no less than four matches.

Swimming brilliantly a team drawn from Small Ships (Boys) Navy) scored a convincing victory over the European, Y. M. C, A. yesterday by two goals after * goalless first half, in a water polo match played in the swimming bath in the Royal Naval Dockyard. The encounter

thrilling one and the pace set through- out was very fast,

The Navy thoroughly deserved their victory for they all played well. In Paul, Ruther and Hankinson they have a very formidable combination capable of penetrating the stiffest defence, Browne as centre-half played a very steady game whilst Halfyard was the pick of the back.

Although Blackle had not much to do at goal, he showed good anticipation on the few occasions he was tested.

The European "Y" did not field their strongest team-May and C Geldman being sorely missed in the ranks In view of the strong
