GERMAN SHIP
CAPTURED
LONDON, May 28 The part played by a
(Reuter)-- Canadian
warship in the capture of a Cer- man ship has just been revealed here.
She is Canada's latest destroyer H.M.C.S. Assiniboine,
She was on patrol in company with the British critser Caribbean.
They sighted the Hannover a German merchant ship which was promptly set on fire by its Ger- man crew.
The two warships, however, were determined to try and save it.
The cruiser took the Hannover in tow while the Assiniboine went to windward and come alongside. She brought hoses to bear on the flames.
For five days this strange con- voy continued until they arrived«f: at Kingston, Jamaica. There the Germans lost their ship and the Empire gained another.
