LONDON, May 27 (Reuter)-General Sir Edmund Ironside has been appointed Comman- der-in-Chief of the Home Forces in place of General Sir Walter Kirke who will be retired.
General Sir John Dill replaces General Ironside as Chief of the Imperial General Staff.
It is explained in well-informed London circles that the changes have been brought about by the developments in the international situation and the necessity of placing the de- fences of Britain against possible invasion "in - the strongest possible hands.
It is learned that the appointment of Gen- eral Ironside and General Sir John Dill is proof of the very great importance the Government attaches to perfecting, by any and every means in their power, the strength of British Homé defence...

ALLEGED FORGED PAWN. TICKETS
An ingenious method to defraud the public was revealed at the Central Magistracy yesterday when Chan Fons. unemployed, appeared before Mr. T, L Houston on three counts alleging possession of 15 forged pawn, tickets of the Kwin On Pawnshop, possession of 22 forged pawn tickets, and pos- session of seven forged dies, His wife, Pun Wal-lan, was charged on the second and third counts.
