NEW YORK RUBBER: The market opened strong on specula-Boeing Airplane Co.. tive and general buying, which was mainly due to doubts as to the securing of supplies as hostilities proceed. At the high levels. there was some proat-taking and prices partially reacted on the weakness of the Sterling exchange.

CHICAGO WHEAT: Sensational reports of an imminent exten- sion of war to North Europe were reflected in higher wheat prices. accompanied with extensive short-covering. The advance, however, met with profit-taking and hedging, bus prices again sharply rallied towards the close on less apprehension of scattered rains in the dry areas and on reports of large sales of Manitoba, wheat to the British Government.
