AMSTERDAM, Mar. 14 (Reuter)-With the end of the Finnish war, it is believed that Herr Hitler means to force a military decision on the Western Front before the end of the year.
It is reported that preparations for a big offensive have been going on throughout the winter all over the Reich.
It became known this week that the German Army and "vital" Industries-war, Industries—have virtually commandeered the railways for the next two months.
It is thought that this may well portend the transport of masses of men and material to areas decided on for attack.
Military hospitals are being feverishly erected.
A Reuter message from Helsing- fors states that as the seriousness
of the military situation is gradu- ally becoming known, it is increas- ingly apparent that Finland could do little else but make peace.
In South Finland, the Russians had progressed so far over the ice that coastal batteries east of Hel singfors were put out of action.
It is understood that the Prime Minister, Dr. Rysto Ryti, received guarantees from his Parliamentary colleagues before he went to Mos- cow so, no doubt, the Diet will ratify the agreement.;.
