The market was very quiet. NEW YORK COTTON: Southern selling and scattered liquida- tion was easily absorbed by broad Trade, European and Japanese demand.
NEW YORK RUBBER: The meeting of the International Rubber Restriction Committee is to be held on February 20 (Tuesday) and a reduction of 5 per cent. is anticipated. The Trade is reported to be selling against shipment purchases.

CHICAGO WHEAT: The absence of offertags on declines, despite further beneficial snows in the South-West and lack of exports, was Bliver prices dropped yesterday more effective than the bulk of the buying. Complaints of ridiculous to the extent of 3/8 for Ready and cold weather conditions in Europe are becoming an important market 3/18 for Forward, the quotations factor,
being 20.13/18 and 20.3/4 respect-. NEW YORK ively, Silver advices reported Spe-148.33; Change, off .45.. culators as having sold. A small business was done. The market closed dill with sellers at 1/16 un- American der the quoted rate. Silver was quoted at 34.3/4" for Bpot.
