Covering and the absence of offers imparted strength of "near positions but forwards were neglected:
NEW YORK COTTON: There was some selling for March, How- ever, there is an element of strength in the fact that Spot' cotton continue to be hard to buy. A feature of the day was the renewed foreign interest which has been slack for sometime. Sentiment was bullish
some short covering and NEW YORK RUBBER: There was Trade buying on reports that British Government continued to be an aggressive buyer and the possibility that the quota would be reduc- ed by 5 per cent,
CHICAGO WHEAT: Market firm and fairly active. The Trade was aided by the firmness of securities and buying by large foreign interests. There are continued fears of crop damage by the cold wave in South-West Europe
