Courage Of During Wanton Nazi Air Attacks

On Defenceless Ships

Six Vessels Bombed And Machine Gunned In Raid

On Saturday Last

LONDON, Feb. 5 (Reuter)-Numerous instances of the courage of seamen and Ashermen were revealed following the Nazt air raids over the North Sea on Saturday.

Two German aircraft" bombed the Yewdale, machine- gunfire smashing the windows of the wheel-house and kill- ing the skipper and three members of the crew.

Defying danger, a fishing craft went out and aided the Yewdale to reach port safely, where, except for the broken windows, she showed little sign of her ordeal.

(Havas)—Authoritative sources here are extremely surprised that a certain semi-official Japanese- news agency deemed it advisable to include, in one of its » broadcasts, the "news" report published in one of Tokyo's papers, and immediately denied in Paris, that France had concluded with Chungking a secret treaty for supplying Chungking with arms and ammunition via the Yunnan Railway.
