The prisoners, inte.ned Irish Republican suspects," were going out for exercise when they sudden- ly attacked the warders who were opening their cells.

They overpowered three and took their keys. These warders and three prisoners who refused to take part in the mutiny were locked up. Prisoners at the gaol are housed In 18 cells on a third storey cor- ridor. The approach to this cor ridor is cut off by two steel doors while there is a third steel door across the middle of the corridor.

The prisoners locked these doors and barricaded them with cell fur- nihire. They then set fre to their bedding and smashed every bit of furniture in their cells,

"Holders of licences are reminded that if it is desired to con- tinue to retain possession of the apparatus after the date of expira tion of the licence a renewal must be effected without delay,

New Licences will be available at the Government Radio Office, G.P.O. Building, First Floor, on ordinary business days, and will be issued against the receipt of a remittance of $13.00, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 pm, except on Saturdays when licences will be issued between 9 a.m. and i p.m.

Applications may be made:-

(a) personally,

b) by messenger.

(c) by post.

It is essential under (c) and preferable under (a) and (b) that" applications should be accompanied by crossed Cheque payable to Hong Kong Government. The new licence will then be sent by post or messenger as soon as it is ready. Where actual cash is tender- ed a new licence should be received in exchange before leaving the Licensing Office,
