Interesting Talk At Y's Men's Club By Former

Chinese Official

Formerly a Commissioner of Foreign Affairs for Sin- klarig and Consul for China in Vladivostok, Mr. Altchen K. Wu was the speaker yesterday at the weekly tiffin meeting of the Y's Men's Club at the St. Francis Hotel,

Mr. Wu spoke on the social customs of the Uighurs and Kasaks of Sinklang, basing his narrative on actual experi- ence gained in the province in 1932-35 in the Chinese Gov- crnment Service.

The total area of Sinklang the speaker said, was about 5, 500,000 square 11, the province being 1-1/2 times the size of the whole of Manchuria, and more extensive in area than the British Isles, France and Germany put together.

The beautifully decorated St Paul's Church was the scene of a pretty wedding yesterday afternoon. between Miss Ruth Yue Fung U and Dr H H. Tal, M.B. (Edin.). The Rev. Paul 8. F, Tso officiated. The bride, eldest daughter of Mr. Sz Wing, well-known compradore of Messrs. Dodwell and Co., and Mrs. US Wing, was escorted to the altar by her father. Attending Miss U were Miss Mabel U, her sister, and a cousin, Miss Kwan Chau D. Two children, Master Titus Cheung and Miss Wing Tan U, acted as page boy and flower girl, respectively.
