After ruling firm on outside buying, the market reacted on the cessation of this demand, after which the market was quietly steady. NEW YORK COTTON: Continued general demand advanced prices easily and the market was strong due to the strength of the December position. Trade shorts continued to be good buyers of near months, while offerings were scarce que to the Arm attitude of the growers.

NEW YORK RUBBER: Prices advanced on good factory and foreign buying which absorbed a sizable amount of December offer- Ings. Shipments were light and at higher prices.

CHICAGO WHEAT: Nearby positichs have further strengthened. Good milling demand reflects the strength of cash markets

A large scale purchase by the Finnish Government is reported to be under negotiation. Unfavourable crop news is unchanged.
