TROUBLESOME CONDITIONS OPENING SHOOT FOR FAR EAST TROPHY COMPETITION Hongkong Competing With
Ceylon And
Singapore
The chief event of the mid-week shoot was the Far East Trophy Match. This year Hongkong is competing against only two teams, Ceylon and Singapore, as the Federated Malay States are unable to enter a team because their members are so scattered.
The conditions had all the appearance of being in favour of the marksmen, but some rude shocks were on the way. A troublesome haze at 200 yards ruined most scores, as good elevation could not be maintained. How- ever, some good recoveries were made at the longer ranges to compensate for the bad start.
