The market was quiet. COTTON: Near positions continued. to be Arm under the influence of the strength of spots and good Trade demand. We be- lleve that domestic consumption and exports will be 750,000 bales in excess of this year's production and this may involve another bid for some supplies from the Government's loan stocks. Therefore we think that May and July contracts later will be around ten centa We also favour purchases of October option.

The market was quiet but, steady. Prices were within RUBBER: narrow range. An improved factory demand was in evidence.

Prices were easier on reports of cloudy weather in the WHEAT: drought sections in the South-West. The market was quiet and featureless.

HIDES: Prices were easier after being steady on some factory demand. We believe that scale down purchases are warranted.
