CHANGSHA, Oct. 20 (Central)—Field dispatches report that sharp. fighting has been going on between Linsiang and Taolin, in North Hunan, during the past two days.
Chinese vanguards, had a chance encounter with 500 Japanese troops marching southward from Yanglowsze, 37 miles northeast of Yoyang, on the Canton-Hankow Railway on Wednesday morning. Fighting raged until yesterday evening, when the Japanese were repelled, suffering over 200 casualties.
