WHAT WOULD HÅVE RANKED AS THE BIGGEST UPSET IN THE MISTORY OF THE ANNUAL HARBOUR RACE JUST FAILED to come off yesterday' when hundreds of spectators lined. the praya wall witness a most thrilling finish. as Yau Sal- kwan. 15-year-old "wonder boy" of Hongkong swimming. matched stroke for stroke the champian, Chan Chun-nam, eatching up with him at the Naval Dockyard wall and swimming abreast of him to within 50 tot of the finish.

Even while losing ground, Yau would not be defeated and gave way but gradually to trail finally by some three or four yards, Yau swam strongly all the way, and with Chan, 0: more experienced swimmer and holder of the Chinese' National record for the 1.500 Metres free style, drew away from the field at half distance.

Even more amazing was the success of Lau Tai-ping, small- er in stature than Yay and an year younger, who swim in a most plucky manner to Anish third only a minute in back of Yau. despite having SWAM somewhat of course at one stage of the race. #

Crown Rent Case Dismissed Shanghat

At Ping Shan Court

When Mr. Thomas Henry Gordon Braffleld, the well-known racehorse owner and resident of Ping Shan, appeared before Lt. J. Barrow, Assistant District Land Officer, of the Ping Shan Land Office yesterday, in answer to a summons, he was surprised to learn that there was no case against him.

Mr. Brayfield was summoned to show cause 'why a warrant should not be issued for the recovery of $115.23 for attachment and sale for Crown Rent due to the District Land Office, and he appeared in court fully armed with legal documents prepared for a legal "battle" with the Assistant Land Officer on the grounds that he had been mis-summoned,
