CHARITY FOOTBALL MATCH WAS DISAPPOINTING: PROSPECTS FOR WEEKEND GAMES

St. Joseph's v. Eastern Will Be Interesting

BY PILAT"

IT IS APPARENT, by the performances shown by both teams and individuals alike, that players have not yet ful- ly get into their strides" and, consequently, the stan- dard of football seen last week-end was of a rather ragged nature. In this respect the charity game between the Chinese and Foreigners was in particular disappointing.

All in all, the charity football match on the Club 'ground.on Tuesday between the Chinese and Foreign teams was mediocre in the extreme. It was evident that several members of the Foreign team are still suffering from that early season" feeling while among the Chinese it was a case of "too much football."

Club Cricket Opens: Prospects Discussed

BY E. U. ROPES

In view of the fact that the different Clubs have not quite completed arranging their fixtures for the season äs yet, there seems to be some doubt about the number of cricket matches to be played this afternoon. As far as I have been able to find out, however, there are at least five games on the programme, three of them being first divi- sion matches.

THE INDIANS

The Indians will be at home tö the Army at Sookunpoo and a good game should result. Two of the I.R.C. players, "A. H. Madar and A R. Kitchell, were prominent lastj Tuesday with a century apiece in an intra-club game and this good start should give them both plenty. I of confidence for the season, expect a lot of runs from them as the season progresses.
