It will be interesting to note the Chinese in Macao are very patriotic and despite the many in- ducements offered by the Japanese, the type of Chinese who have so far returned to Canton is not, the type, that the Japanese so much desire.

The Chinese of Macao have long since learned to disbelieve any promises held out by the Japanese
