WOMAN ACCUSED OF MURDER

OF CONCUBINE: SOBBING IN COURT

Jealousy Believed Motive For SOCCER LEAGUE

Alleged Chopper Attack

"A touching scene was enacted in the Central Court yester- day when an ared woman, Ting Fat-yla, was about to enter the * witness-box, to give evidence against her daughter - in - law, in a

charge of murder."

The two women looked at one another as Ting stepped near the box, and beth beran, to sob."

The woman in the dock was Pang Ylu-wuf, aged 40, charged with the murder of her husband's concubine, Wan Hang-chung, on July 14, by attacking her with a chopper. The motive for the alleged attack was the jealousy of the defendant, who was stated to have said that the concubine had hidden, her hus- band.

The case was heard before Mr. R. T. D. Forrest. The prosecution was conducted by Mr. T. J. Gould, As- alstant Crown Sclicitor, assisted by Detective-Inspector L. R. Whant.

The old troubles broke out again when the two women came together for the second time.

TEA CEREMONY There was

a tea drinking cere mony when the concubine came back to the house, and it was al- leged that the defendant refused to accept the tea offered by the deceased and was stated to have scolded and threatened the concu- bine.

On July 13, there was a conver sation between Kan and his eldest daughter, regarding the condition of the defendant. Kan refused to send for a doctor, on the ground that it was too experisive, and suggested that his wife should take medicine. During the conversa-
