NEW YORK COTTON

The commodity Credit Corporation announces that its holdings of loan cotton, as of August 15, totalled 11,028,000 bales. Of this amount, 1,669.000 bales comprised 1934 cotton: 6,287,000 bales 1937 cotton and 4,032,000 1938 cotton. Prices were irregular to-day on the general uncertainty of the situation.

NEW YORK RUBBER

Better advices from London and Singapore caused a better open- ing here and prices were well sustained on Trade support and de- mand from manufacturers.

CHICAGO WHEAT

Prices moved in either direction to correspond with conflicting rumours from Europe: There was some early weakness on lack of demand, but the market later brightened on reports of large pür- chases of Manitoba wheat and on a fair mill demand..
