The opening rates were quoted norminal for all deliveries with general absence of interest. "Later in the session, prices succumbed under the pressure of the consistent general selling, which met with little support, apparently under the influence of further bearish polt- tical cables. Some small business was transacted in January-March at-29-1/4,

Later in the afternoon further offerings were in evidence, and business came to pass on a very small scale at 28-1/8 for October- December and 28-1/15 for January-March.
The market was nervous and uncertain with an easy tone.

Lower advices from the foreign markets caused a lower open- ing here, while the unsettlement of the European situation caused irregularity throughout the day. Towards the close, there was a re- covery on a good demand for spots and on enquiry from manufacTM turers.
