Bradman's Test Record Lowered: Third Match Against W. Indies Drawn

Though the Third Test Match between· England and the West Indies was left drawn, England not only won the rubber-having won the first and drawn two -but also set up two cricket recards.

The first of these was when Hutton and Ham- mond established a third wicket stand which realised 264 runs; the second was when Hammond, in scoring 138, lowered Bradman's record of 21 centuries scored in Test games.

Shortly after tea Hutton reached his 100 after batting för 220 min- utes, and Hammond followed suit. Brooklyn later, scoring 102 in 155 minutes.

This was Hammond's first century in the Test against West Indies. He now beatą Don Bradman's total of 21 cen- turies in Test maler, The English captain was bowled by Clarke with the total at 341. Hammond's contribution was 138, of which 84 came from boundary hits. His partnership with Hutton realised 284 runs in 180 minutes.. A RECUED
