LONDON, Aug 22 (Reuter)-Official circles have hitherto been silent on the proposed German-Soviet non-aggression pact but the morning papers reflect the surprise with which the news has undoubtedly been received in informed unofficial circles.
The "Daily Mail" says that if the report is con- firmed. It will mean the end of the Franco-Russian" treaty for mutual assistance in the event of attack, and will also cancel out the anti-Comintern Pact.

LONDON, Aug. 22 (Reu- ter) The Cabinet met at 2. p.m. to-day.
Following strong repre- sentations by both Oppos ition parties there is now a great possibility that both Houses of Parliament will meet on Thursday.
So far as is known in London, the tripartite talks in Moscow are con- tinuing, but Reuter's Mos- cow correspondent reports that there was no meeting of the military experts this morning.
