AMUSING TALK GIVEN AT ROTARY CLUB TIFFIN

MR. H. C. MACNAMARA ON FRENCH- ORIGIN IN ENGLISH TONGUE

A very large attendance at yesterday's weekly tiffin of the Rotary Club in the Roof Garden of the Hongkong Hotel listened to a very interesting and amusing talk"given by Mr. H. C. Macnamara entitled, 'Law-French," in the course of which the speaker traced the introduction and persistence of words of French origin in the English tongue, especially in legal terminology.
