LONDON, Aug. 3 (Reuter)-In the House of Com- mons yesterday Mr. Neville Chamberlain submitted a motion that the House should adjourn from Friday until October 3, with the provision that the Speaker should recall the House at an earlier date if he was satisfied that the public interest demanded it.

Mr. Chamberlain said that the period of adjourn- ment was shorter than usual, the reason, being that the normal business of the session had been interrupt- ed by emergency legislation. Parliament, he
