THE BEER BARONS NAILED. THE 1939. PENNANT to the UB. mast on Saturday, when they convincingly trounced their nearest contenders, the U.S.S. Mindanao, by 8 runs to . Continuing on their triumphant way, the Union Brewers regis- tered their ninth straight victory by taking South China, 8-5, on Sunday morning.
In the only other axture played, the "Hongkong Baseballers put up a surprisingly good show against the Mindanao gang,' but lost by 13 runs to 9. The score of the UB.-Mindanao clash was hardly a true indication of the run of the play, as the sailor þöys matched the winners hit for hit, with the only extra base clout going to the credit of Cecil Douglas.

The Second Test Match between Indies
England and the West ended at Manchester on Tuesday in a draw. England, who had declared at 164 for 3, in the first innings. were able to dismiss the tourists for 133 and, going in a second time scored 128 for 6 when Hammond declared, leaving the West Indies 160 runs to make to win with only 70 minutes of play.
