Throughout the day the market ruled "dull and featureless owing to the Rubber Exchanges in London and New York having been closed on Saturday last
Furthermore, the market is also awaiting the quota decision on the 25th instant which likewise contributed to inactivity.
The oplaton is widely held amongst Rubber brokers that in view of the promising consumption-outlook the fourth quarter quota may be fixed at 60 per cent, as against 55 per cent, for the third quarter... and that in this event there was nothing to prevent the market from pursuing an upward trend, unless unforeseen outside induen- ces would make themselves felt.
