The market opened 1/8 of a cent higher for all deliveries as com- 817.10'pared with Friday's closing quotations.

In response to advices received from London and New York the ruled steadier with fair buying interest for immediate and forward deliveries being displayed by consumers and dealers.
Although speculators were inclined to operate cautiously, sen- timent, nevertheless, was more optimistic due to the fact that American absorption Agures for June were generally regarded as very satisfactory. Furthermore, the fair increase in Motorcar- production for the week ending 14th. instant: also was an aiding factor. For the moment it would appear that uncertainties with regard to the fourth quarter quota announcement on the 25th, in- stant together with possible labour-unrest in USA. did not affect the market.
