LAWN BOWLS NOTES:
One Tie Features
First Division
Games: Keen Finishes
Taikoo Deposed From Top Of Second League Table
(By. "Jack Hy")
The Lawn Bowls League programme last Satur- day saw two ties the Indian R.C. tied with the Kow- loon Bowling Green Club in the First Division and The Talkoo R.C. with Kowloon Tong in the Second. results of the other matches in these two Divisions were as expected, but two upsets were recorded in the Third Division. All the home teams did not win, as had been expected, the Hongkong Football Club and Hongkong Electric dropping two points each at home.
The Indian R.C. were unfortunate to have to share the spoils with the Kowloon Bowling Green Club. They were leading all the way until towards the end when, with a final spurt, the Kowloon Bowlers piled up the shots and very nearly overhauled the In- dians' total. Adam Holland's rink was the only suc-. cessful visiting rink. His win by 12 shots over M. R. Abbas just offset the loss by 12 shots sustained by the other two K.B.G.C, skips.

LOCAL HISTORY MADE: CALLS GAME ON GROUNDS ONE SIDE NOT TRYING
(By R.0.Y.)
For the first time in the history of Hongkong baseball, an ampire had occasion, to terminate a match before it had gone the full distance, on the grounds that one squad was not trying. This happened in the clash between the Chinese Baseballers and South China after the latter team had played excellent ball to hold
6-4 lead a
at the end of the sixth frame, but then had allowed the Baseballers to regain the lead with four allies during the first half of the seventh, mairily, through ......... laéfadafričal fielding.
Umpire Horton suspended play before the Baseballers had completed their time at bat and declared the game completed with the scorea as they stood at the end of the last completed Inning. At an emergency meeting of the League committee, on Tuesday evening, that body confirmed Umpire Horton's ruling which means that the Chinese Baseballera have been debited with another loss which just about puts them out of the run- ning for this year's pennant.
