The market opened 1/8 of a cent higher for all deliveries as com- pared with Tuesday's closing quotations,
Early in the morning the market ruled steady. Good enquiries" for immediate "delivery by consumers induced dealers and specula- tors to display some buying interest in futures. The better senti- ment would appear to have been caused by reports from London that the price for Rubber under the Anglo-American Barter Agree-. ment would be fixed at 74. per lb.fo.b. Singapore, being equal to about 28 cents, pending the consent of non-British producers. which, it is believed, might have a steadying effect upon prices. Fur- thermore, overnight cable-reports on the improving international political situation, coupled with the firmness of the London Stock Exchange, did not fall to contribute to a more optimistic outlook.
Later in the sesaton, however, after a transitory period of quiet- ness, the market turned slightly easier due liquidation and some speculative selling. prices declining by 1/8 cent for forward options, but rates for "spot" Rubber remained unchanged.

NEW YORK COTTON
A strong market was apparent at the opening to-day, with a higher adjustment of prices. However, this early strength was not sustained, and prices soon eased off on liquidation. The outstand- ing feature was the weakness of the July option. Considerable speculative selling was also noticed, but the volume Was small. Some small losses were registered for the day.
NEW YORK RUBBER
Trading was again narrow, but the market closed on the upside. Some new speculative buying was evidenced.
CHICAGO WHEAT
After a quiet opening, better cables and new speculative buying brought about a rally in to-day's market. The Liverpool market closed very arm and the local market was fairly well maintained. with the closing prices near the day's best.
