-WIMBLEDON, June-29-4Router).... There were several surprises in the Wimbledon Tennis Championships yesterday.

After rain had caused a cessation of play for half an hour, the first real surprise came in the Men's Singles, when Donald McNeil, of America, recent winner of the French title, and the third seeded player, was beaten by the unseeded Yugoslav Davis Cup player, Kukul- Jeric 6-4, 7-5, 6-1, in the second round.
