Throughout the session the market ruled very quiet. There was a fair demand for "actuals" by consuming countries, amongst which Russia took a prominent position, but trade and speculative en- quiries were negligible despite overnight cable-reports from New York that continued fair motorcar-sales encouraged anticipations of bringing the total for June withina better than seasonal range,
The market still appears to be dominated by the International political situation. However, it is confidently expected that ariy favourable political developments should stimulate activity and move the market into higher ground.
Closing tone was dull.

The market opened with a steady tone, with prices moving up on fair speculative buying and "bear" covering Bore foreign buy ing was also noted: However, this proved to be short-lived.
