Quiet conditions prevailed throughout the session due to cable- reports that the market in New York was dull and featureless. delivery Στι There was only a moderate demand for immediate evidence, whilst dealers and speculators preferred to maintain alde- line positions.

Subsequently, the market tumed easier on some speculative sell- ing. which was mainly attributed to profit-taking, prices declining by 1/3 cent for all deliveries.

Closing tone was quiet,

Although business news from U.S.A. continues to be encouraging. It is somewhat surprising that the market does not show any signs of favourable reactions. In view of this fact it would appear that the continuance of international political uncertainties is respon- sible for preventing the market from moving into higher levels.

Agricultural Appropriation Bill had a heartening effect, whilst good speculative buying was an additional aiding factor. Towards the close, however, there was a lull in the market, and prices receded slightly with the early gains-partially-pared off.
