A spirited plea for Town Planning in Hongkong, "to make this a City Beautiful-the most beautiful city in every way in the Far East" was made by the Rev. J. R. Higgs, Vicar of St. Andrew's, In the course of a refreshing and knowledgeable talk to the Rotary Club at its weekly tiffin in the Roof Garden of the Hongkong Hotel yesterday.
Rev. Mr. Higgs put forward ten main pointë for the aesthetic improvement of the Colony, including tree-planting as opposed to tree-felling, a far closer supervision of the erection of advertising signs, the provision of parks and, open spaces, for the mass of the people, the building of a Kowloon Promenade and the improvement of street names.
