The market opened 1/8 of a cent lower for all deliveries.as.com. pared with Monday's closing rates.

Easter conditions prevalled on the market early in the morning. thus responding to advices received from London and New York. -

Although there was a fair demand for spot Rubber by consum- ing countries in evidence, speculators observed a hesitant attitude. preferring to awalt further developmenta in London and New York.

Subsequently prices registered a slight decline of 1/8 cent for all deliveries due to some liquidation and 'proft-taking. But this lower level of prices attracted some trade buying which, coming on s'her- row market. caused the market to advance by 1/8 cent for all op- tions. This slight advance, however, was lost again during the last $ico trading hour, the market closing with a slightly easier undertone.

An initial buoyancy was in evidence in to-day's market, which subsequently became active and strong on the trade and foreign buying. Reports of continued over wet conditions in the central beit 'imparted considerable impetus to the advance in prices. Further support was provided by good speculative. buying and "bear" cover- ing, and prices were maintained at the day's best levels.

NEW YORK 'RUBBER

The market was idle with riothing to precipitate selling. On the other hand, there was no inducement to buy, and in a quiet market, broad tendency was to drift downwards.
