Small Margin Of Recreio Win Over C.C.C. Does Not Augur Well For

LAWN BOWLS

For Future PAIRS TOURNEY

Indians Set Two Records For Season v. Civil Servants (By "Jack Hy")

over Craigen- While the victory of Recreio gower last Saturday came as no surprise, the fact that the Portuguese won so narrowly does not augur any too well for them when these two rival contenders for the championship meet again on the tricky Craigen- gower green later in the season.

To tell the truth, I had expected Recreio to win quite comfortably but winning by such a small margin as seven shots suggests too much sweating under the collar for comfort. However, present form cannot be taken into account when anticipating the result of a future match and, anyway, bowls is full of uncertain-

ties.

With the exception of Abbas who for the second consecutiva day played very well indeed, none of the other players reached a high standard of play. Stiva could do nothing with his heavy woods and though, he had three shots on one head as the result of a drive, it was really a fluky effort, as his wood took the jack back after two wicks to give him three.
