British Submarine Disaster

The link which Hongkong had with the officers of the ill-fated submarine H.M.S. Thetis, particularly in naval circles, was borne out by the keen and sym- pathetic interest with which the public in the Colony followed the news regarding the attempts made at the week-end to rescue the men who were trapped inside the ship of doom.

Inquiries at this office were numerous for information regarding the latest.. news and Reuter's cables announcing that all hope had been abandoned has met with deep regret on all sides.
