TURKISH MISSION WILL CONSULT WITH BRITISH

France Sends Gamelin; Voroshiloff May Join

LONDON, June 2 (Transocean)—Great importance is attached in political and military quarters here to the forthcoming visit of a Turkish military mission headed by the Inspector General of the Turkish Army, General Kaiazim Örbay. General Orbay is expected to arrive in London at the end of the week, accompanied by three officers of the Turkish General Staff.

British military, naval and air attaches in Ankara have been summoned to London so that they may take part in the conversations which the Turkish military mission will have with the British military authori ties. These conversations will "deal with two ques- tlons, strategical measures for the co-ordination of defence in the Near East, and the question of war ma- terials to be supplied to Turkey by Britain.

al Orbay will have in London will be merely of a preparatory char- acter. More comprehensive agree ments between the two countries will be concluded at Ankara as soon as the Anglo-Turkish Pact comes into force,

PARIS, June 2 (Transocean)— The "Paris Midi" reports that the Chief of the General Staff of the French Army, General Gamelin, will take part in the conversations: which the Turkish military mission wil have with British military authorities in London early next week. The chief question that will be discussed will be defence of the Dardanelles, says the paper, which adds that next week's British, Turkish and French Staff con. sultations will be followed by Anglo-French-Polish General Staf consultations in September.

SOVIET MAY TAKE PART

If negotiations now in pro- gress between Britalu, France and Soviet Union are success- fully concluded by that time. the Chief of the Soviet Gen- eral Staff Marshal Voroshitoff, will likewise take part in these conversations.

TURKISH PRESIDENT MAY TAKE TRIP

LONDON, June 2 (Transocean)... The forthcoming visit to England of the Turkish President, M. Ismet Inoenue, is reported by the "Dally Express" to-day.

It is declared that the Turkish Ambassador in London, Dr. Rush- du Aras...is conducting conferences at the present time with British Foreign Office officials to arrange details of the visit.

SHANGHAI, June 2 (Int/2) That Japan has agreed to anter into a military alliance with Ger- many and Italy was reported here to-day.

The terms are adequate supply of arms by the Axis powers to Japan in return for the supply of 2,000,000 Chinese in Manchuria to be trained as soldiers in Germany and Italy.

The arms from the two European powers are to enable Japan to con- tinue the war in China.
