The King has become Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Scots Greys (2nd Dragoons), who share with the original Royal Regiment of. Scots Dragoons the nickname of ""The Bird-Catchers."

AT WATERLOO

They took part in the charge at Waterloo, when a sergeant captured Hanoi. the eagle of the French 45th Regiment, and have been made immortal by the famous painting of Lady Butler, "Ecotland for Ever." The Royal Scots are known as "Pontius Pilate's Bodyguard" because, while the regiment was serving on the Continent, some of the soldiers argued with the French as to the antiquity of their respective regintents.
