PREMATURE JUBILATION IN BERLIN OVER RESULT OF ANGLO-SOVIET TALKS
Barrage Of Questions Fired At Premier In Commons
BERLIN, MAY 11 (REUTER)-THE ANGLO-RUSSIAN RE- LATIONS ARE THE CHIEF PREOCCUPATION OF THE NEWS- PAPERS HERE. THE PREMATURE JUBILATIONS based on the belief that the Anglo-Russian talks have reached a dead- lock were countered by a sober article in the "Hamburger fremdenblatt," which says that the negotiations will unques- tionably be continued and that it is too early to forecast the probable outcome.
The significance of the Russian announcement consists in the fact that it reveals fully the extent of the dangerous aspect of the en- circlement manoeuvres of the Bri- tish Government.
"It must be realized," continues the writer, "that the Soviet, in its official statement, have in no way refused to give Rumania and Pa- land guarantees and did rot 'op-
pose. as such, the British demand
that Russia should engage in the supply of military aid to Britain and France in case of an East European conflict."
