(1837 edition). Ordinance, 1936. and further amended the Prevention ol Eviction Ordinance, 1839
In respect of the last, the Attorney-General, Hon. Mr. C. O. Alabaster, said that it was by its very terms to have expired at the end of this month. Government had decided that the pressure of population was so great that It WDY necessary to have on the Statute Book as an Or- dinance for a further period.
This Bill would enable it to re- main on the Statute Book for another year. It did not mean, however, that it must stay in the Book for another year. If conditions changed, another Ordinance could be passed amending it.
