The market opend 1/4 of a cent lower for all deliveries as com- pared with Saturday's closing rates,

Early in the morning the market ruled dull and featureless due to disinclination of speculators to enter into new engagements.

There was, however, good demand for "actual" but due to the scarcity of "spot" Rubber dealers displayed buying interest in future positions, which, later in the session, caused a temporary price-ad- vance of 1/8 cent for all deliveries,

Subsequently this slight gain could, however, not be maintain- ed, the market closing with a very quiet undertone.

The Commodity Research Bureau reported under date of April 10 as follows:

"The declining trend of supplies in consuming countries, result- ing from the small permissible export-quotas and the improved con- sumption, is reported to have caused the British and US Gavem- ments to express desires to have the Regulation Committee increase the quotas. Rubber is definitely a war necessity and the fear is that shipment channels would be closed in the event of a major out- break."

The market was rather irregular to-day. Prices for near months ·" continued to move upwards on good buying, and remained steady at the close. However, prices for more distant options declined on sell- nervosaness ing and liquidation, prompted by certain amount", of over the Washington inactivity.

The market was dull and featureless. Awalling the outcome of the "quota" meeting, traders were reluctant to make further com- mitments. The volume of business was small; and prices moved within narrow limits."

CHICAGO WHEAT

The market presented a weak appearance dth lower initial prices. The decline was caused by reports of showers recelyed ́over a wide area in the winter wheat belt.
