FOURTH EXTRA RACE MEETING

MEETING IN IDEAL

+11

WEATHER: HUGE CROWDS CASH SWEEPS

Good Finishes: Substantial Cash Sweep Prizes

MR. ENCARNACÃO, MR. NEEDA, EACH SCORE THREE WINS

IDEAL WEATHER AND THE PROSPECT OF SOME FAST RACING brought the best crowd thus far in the season down to Happy Valley for the 4th extra race meeting on Saturday. A number of good finishes were seen but, though the course was fast enough, times on the whole were disappointing.

Dividends were on the whole fair but there was nothing over $60. Advancing Time, though ridden by a novice, Mr. Ho Hong-ping, beat a field comprising Strathbannock, Ebony Idol, Night View and other good ponies in the first section of the Taimoshan Handicap, causing an upset in the second leg of the Daily Double.

This resulted in the correct com- bination. Some Hope (in the

Hunchbacks Plate), and Advan- cing. Time paying $397.60 to the 18 successful nominators.
