FOURTH E TRA RACE MEETING TO-MORROW

Reappearance Of Strathroy

In Brisbane Spring H'cap

The main attraction at the Fourth Extra Race Meeting to-morrow afternoon will undoubtedly be the re-appearance of Strathroy in the Brisbane Spring Bandicap. This old favourite has not been seen in action for quite a while and will have the unique experience of being half way down the poundage list rather than at the top, as in the past. An extremely interesting and close race is expected, though it is not expected that the record for the distance (1-1/4 miles) will be lowered.

FIRST MATCH TO-MORROW

UNDER INDIFFERENT WEATHER CONDITIONS

The final Wednesday shoot of the Season was held under uninteresting and indifferent weather conditions. A dull and dificult light prevalled throughout the afternoon and a Nicking Cross wind proved disconcerting to a great many of the com- petitors. This was evidenced by the unusually large number of magpies to be found nestling amongst the bulls on the scoring boards, however, in spite of this there were some rood scores put up.

The afternoon proved a good oc-| Ogden casion to fire off the last "petty L.A.C. J. Berry. hates and rivalries" amongst the Bdsm. W. ̈ hints, most notable of which was Tonmer

their annual shoot for the Steers Cup. This was fired for by SR. (b) competitors under NRA. Rules. Twelve competitors took part in what proved to be a very closely contested match..

Lieut. Dawson led at 300 yards with 32, closely followed by C/Sgt. Hale, Sgt. Cooper and E/Cpl. Lang ford. At 500 yards the two former drew level with Lieut. Dawson and ja very keen competition at 600 yards was anticipated as the light was rapidly becoming worse.
