BIGGEST CUP FINAL UPSET IN MACAO JOCKEY

YEARS: WOLVES BEATEN

Huge Crowd See Portsmouth Break Post-War Record

GLAND TREATMENT EXPONENTS

HUMBLED 4 GOALS TO 1

An upset, which in certain quarters in England ranked as one of the greatest in soccer history, occurred in the F. A. Cup Final, played before a crowd of 100,000 people at Wembley to- day, when Portsmouth, starting under-dogs, scored a magnificent and thoroughly deserved win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, regarded by certain judges as the best football side in the world to-day, by four goals to one,

Portsmouth not only confounded the critics by winning the Cup but they established a post-war scoring record for the Final, beating Sheffield United's 3-0 win over Chelsea in 1915. Wolver- hampton Wanderers, probably the hottest favourites in years, never really recovered from the arst goal scored by Portsmouth, after 30 minutes, and were led 1-0 at the interval.
