The market opened 1/8 of a cent higher for all deliveries ms com- pared with Wednesday's closing rates.
Very quiet conditions prevalled throughout the day. Whilst there was a modern demand for "spot" Rubber by consuming "countries. dealers and speculators preferred to adopt a waiting attitude, mainly due to the political situation in Europe as well as to the uncertainties. with regard to the fixation of the permissible export-quota for the third quarter of this year.
After a moderate volume of business having been transacted on basis of quoted rates the market closed with a quiet undertone.
Full Malayan Rubber Statistics for March as compared with the previous month were anrounced as follows;

The market opened easy with early decline. This was due to May liquidation and mixed Bombay advices. On the whole, the market was dull, and prices moved in narrow range. Possibly, this decline was only a temporary reaction, after 'yesterday's sharp advances.
NEW YORK RUBBER
The market still showed a good tone, and ruled quietly steady to- day. With the exception of the price for May, all the rest continued to advance.
